whiskey slush recipe

this is how it will look after it is fully frozen and stirred

Ingredients

1 cup sugar
1 (12-ounce) frozen lemonade concentrate
1 (6-ounce) frozen orange juice concentrate
6 cups water (hot to dissolve sugar)
2 cups brewed tea (I use Lipton tea bags)
2 cups whiskey

Put sugar in large plastic container. Pour in hot water to dissolve sugar. Add frozen lemonade, orange juice, brewed tea, and whiskey. Stir well and put in the freezer.

*freeze 2 hours, then stir
*freeze overnight, then stir
serve with 7-up, sprite, or ginger ale

My grandma used to always serve this whiskey slush around the holidays...so that is when I think about making it.

This is a great drink to make because you just mix it up and freeze it, and then pull it out of the freezer when guests drop by. In between uses, you can pop it back in the freezer. I made this lots of times for my bunco group when I lived in Texas...and everyone loved it! Of course we were playing bunco and having a night out, so it stands to reason it was a hit.

Anyway, just spoon slush into cups (half slush/half soda) and then add 7-up, sprite, or ginger ale.

Southern Living has a version called Slushy Whiskey Sours here.
