Monday night we got some crazy weather here in the greater Seattle area. There were some mighty gusty winds in the neighborhood of 50 mph (not what was forecast at all.) Our yard is heavily wooded with giant evergreens. Well, during the storm one of them fell in the yard, and one of the many branches that hit the house during the storm broke a window. A little damage to one of our cars that was in the driveway too. The noise from the tree falling sounded like an earthquake. I was pretty terrified one of those giants was going to fall on the house. This all caused a power outage to about 200,000 people.
I know we are lucky that nothing else happened. Of course my only worry during the storm was the five people and three cats that live in our home. But in the morning once I started dealing with all of the mess and problems.... I started to feel frustrated dealing with the aftermath.
I really needed to re-read the above...
and I think it put everything in perspective.
Sometimes I just need a reminder.
When the sun comes up the next day, you wonder why you were so frightened but when it's happening, it's so scary! I hate violent weather. I'm glad y'all are ok! xoxo
ReplyDeleteLove that quote..I have read it before!
ReplyDeleteIt was crazy stormy up here in Vancouver BC too...our power was out for 3 hours...I grumbled about that ...I needed this quote right then to be reminded how blessed we are. xoxoxoxo
Great quote. So sorry for the damage to your home and car, but so glad that your family is safe. I'm saving that quote as a reminder for myself. Thanks for sharing. Hugs-Carrie
