book page pinwheel ornaments

The first picture is a double pinwheel I made with a vintage button in the center.

I wanted to make these book page pinwheel ornaments after seeing the image below at
La La Lovely. I love the look of the pinwheels...and I decided I would go with the book page theme as long as I had already ripped up part of a book
to make the book page wreath earlier in the week.

a few samples of what I made.

I put this one on a mini tree that I have,
since we won't have our big tree up until Saturday.

You Need: Book pages, scissors, glue (I used a hot glue gun) hole punch, twine or ribbon, embellishment

I tore out 2 pages from the book and cut them in half. You need 3 sections for each pinwheel. You will fold up each section accordion style. Then you will bend it in half.

Make your three section. You can use any kind of glue, but because I am impatient, I used
a hot glue gun. On one of the folded ends put a line of glue and close it up.

Put more glue where you want your sections to meet, then pull accordions apart and make pretty. In the center add a pretty button or embellishment. I am keeping mine pretty rustic, since that is the look of the decorations for our Christmas tree, but adding glitter would be pretty too. You can put a hole punch through a part and add twine or ribbon to hang.

Voila!

Here is a link, and here is a link for a couple of other tutorials
if you find that mine is not helpful.

Well, I'm off to make about 16 more of these.

I will post a picture when they are up on our Christmas tree!
