I love those photos hung on the stairs! So cute. I don't have very much artwork hanging in my apartment because we aren't allowed to put holes in the wall. Once I move into a nicer place my goal is to start collecting more original prints!
I love that art on the stairs too! I love to collect old landscapes. I'm not too picky, if they're old and have rolling hills- Sold! And extra bonus if there's a cow in it :)
I love original art and I've been slowing picking up little pieces here and there for groupings. My problem is not having enough wall space to display them in our open-concept space. A previous boss of mine had the most amazing art collection that filled her wall from floor to ceiling - I had never seen anything like it - it was fabulous! :)
Hi Ashlyn, what a lovely post! And beautiful artwork.
Yes, we do have a little collection. My niece is a full-time artist and she works mostly with oil on canvas. We own a huge piece in bright reds with a goldenrimmed fish. Sounds strange when I descibe it, haha. Well, it comes down to this: I love original art and especially when they come from family or friends; that certainly gives them an extra touch. Have a great day! Love, Maaike
I do! We try to invest in one piece a year - for an anniversary, Christmas, or bday. I get great pleasure from our pieces. I keep meaning to do a post. Some are antiques and some aren't. My Mum surprised me with a beautiful old oil of a Belgian lanscape for Xmas. I tend to gravitate toward 18, 19th century oils of landscapes and farms and farm animals. I am trying to expand a bit. I'm bidding at an auction next week in Europe on a few drawings, a little more abstract. I am not going to be there, we have a freind who is attending in my place. My budget is small, so we'll see if luck is on my side. Oh, and I love that you have a "Tess"!! I'm actually a Vanessa, but called myself Tessa when I was 18 months and it stuck, except everyone shortens it to Tess. I'm going to stop this marathon of a comment now and wish you a nice evening! xo, Tess
I love these photos and ways of displaying artwork. I'd love to buy a beautiful painting for my home one day but for now we put up photos that we take. Natasha xo
I love art. One of my favorites pieces was done by my at the time 5 year old. It is in a huge ornate frame in our front hall. I also have some by local artists, garage sale finds and some of my old stuff.
